Pistons when thrown have their opposite sides not visible

When i throw a piston/sticky piston (press the drop key) while looking at it from underneath, you cannot see the base nor side facing away from you.

What I expected to happen was:
See the whole piston/sticky piston block (all sides) when dropped/thrown

What actually happened was:
From underneath, you could not see the base of the piston/sticky piston block and the sides facing away from you.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Obtain a Piston/sticky piston block
2. Press the drop key (which ever you specified in your control settings)
3. Watch how the base and the sides furthest away from you does not show

Are you throwing it directly up, or at an angle?

After testing a bit more, i have found that throwing the items up slightly but at any angle, these effects happen but when throwing directly up, you cannot see them at all!

After further testing, I've found out that this works as intended. When throwing the piston directly up, you are only supposed to see the bottom side, and not the top/other sides.

Well the problem is not seeing the base then.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.
