Hello,
Whenever I place a block in Minecraft I will have to try to place that block several times before my character actually places it down. Also when I try to run or fly in creative mode my character will go in choppy movements (this mostly) or not move at all. Hope you can take a look at this.

A good way to Reduce Lag:
Load Minecraft, Select and Edit The Profile You were Using. Check JVM Arguments and Type in:
-Xmx512m.
Using 1G of ram if you have a very limited computer {4 GB of ram, for example} can cause you to lag a bit. Minecraft uses many resources, and as such can lag if you use to much Memory
Please Update the Environment to show what OS, Processor, Java version, etc. to help us figure out the issue.
I think what you're experiancing is just lag
