Wood color like oak and aciacia have the same color on the map
Gravel have the same color as sand.

Both are intentional. See http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Map_item_format#Color_table

Just because the Wiki documents its existence doesn't mean that this is intentional. I think that the color of gravel on maps shouldn't be yellow.

It's not a glitch or bug. On their snapshots they don't document them as fixing bugs, they document them as updating map colors.
