Throw some items and look at where the items are thrown from.
Take note as to whether or not items are thrown from your head rather than your hand.

This ticket closely relates to MC-101655.
I'd like to make the counter-argument that throwing the item from your hand will be counterintuitive.
You aim by moving your camera, which is always from the perspective of your head.
If items and entities were to be thrown or shot from the hand, it would make it more difficult to aim them (for example when trying to throw something through a hole) because it'll always be at an angle.
It might visually be weird (note: only in third-person, first-person looks normal) but gameplay wise it's perfect for the way minecraft works.
