Upon setting the ocean height to anything below default sea level, the temple will still be surrounded by water, even if depth is set to 0. This also seems to cause some minor lag, as the squids and guardians will fall out of the water and suffocate leaving their drops on the ground ending in entity lag.
EDIT: This is NOT related to any other issue, this is its own thing, please do not add anything to this, categorize it into something else, or otherwise add something I did not mention in my report. So whoever added the irrelevant 'related to link' that I cannot remove, is wrong. Furthermore, This has been made private for Mojang's input only. Thank you.
Attached is a screenshot of this bug. (don't mind the sponges, I was trying to get rid of the water.)

Most probably intendend for FVbico's reason as it is an underwater temple and should be under water.
The same happens with villages in an ocean superflat world, but then leaving rectangular bubbles of air behind.
Who ever attached the related link, no, it is not related, do not attach things not related to this. Do not comment unless you're a part of Mojang. This isn't for user input, this is for Mojang only.
It was me setting the related link.
It's related because columns of air are generated over submerged villages. This ticket is just the other way round.

way to edit out me as the poster jerk. Delete this crap and my screenshot of MY desktop. no wonder some issues never get fixed in this game with 'mods' like you
Mojang hosts the tracker, made the rules, and has designated a team of moderators to assist them in maintaining it. We are in direct communication with several members of Mojang, and ask them when there's a policy question or we are uncertain what to do with a ticket. In the case of this ticket, it is clearly a duplicate of MC-57691, which is still open, waiting for a Mojang employee to resolve it.
"Related" links are ones that might be useful to Mojang in understanding or solving an issue. They also may link to something similar enough that it could be solved concurrently, or have the same type of fix applied, so that Mojang can spend their time most efficiently, rather than having to reinvestigate an issue or reinvent a solution at a later time.
This is not a technical support ticketing system. Tickets do not belong to the person reporting the issue. This is a bug tracker, and all tickets (except those concerning security issues, exploits, or sensitive private information) are set to public so that the community can assist in researching issues and managing the tracker. The tracker averages 100 new tickets per day, and Mojang could not both maintain it and work on the game without the assistance of both the moderator team and the regular users. The goal is to work together to improve Minecraft. Let's keep focused on that.
I think it's intended, it's part of the structure so it won't be covered in blocks
