[MC-58300] Crash when blowing extended pistons up with TNT

when I try to blow extended pistons up, minecraft crashes

what I expected to happen was...
I expected that pistons break

What actually happened...
pistons didn't break and minecraft crashed

Steps to Reproduce:
1. place down a piston
2. power the piston with redstone signal
3. place TNT block next to the piston
4. power the TNT with redstone signal
5. Don't move!
6. game crashes!

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.
