"/spawnpoint <player>" (without coordinates) is not working

What I expected to happen was...:
That the games set the spawnpoint for the target player (doesnt matter if @p or direct name).
That it does the same as /spawnpoint just for a targeted player
That it works like in 14w25b

What actually happened was...:
An Error Named:
"Usage: /spawnpoint OR /spawnpoint <player> OR /spawnpoint <player> <x> <y> <z>

Steps to Reproduce:
Type /spawnpoint @p in 14w26c

Confirmed.
Either it's a bug, or the function was removed but the help not changed.

I hope its just a bug cause I need this command

Then use

/spawnpoint @p ~ ~ ~

wouldn't that set the players spawn directly at the command block, if it does then i cant do that because the command block is in bad a location.
I want the players to have the location of where there currently at to be spawn pointed....I guess I could use /execute @p......spawnpoint to work with it, but still why are they getting rid of the command.

confirmed. normally it should set the spawnpoint to @p's location, when no coordinates are given
I know a lot of adventure maps which would break by this bug

Uhm, yes.
Another workaround:

execute @p ~ ~ ~ spawnpoint @p

That does only work if all players are OP
You cant execute /spawnpoint as a normal player

Giving up 😉

sZPeddy: /execute runs command as player would be OP

Confirmed in 1.8-pre3.
