Banners do not burn up + they stop lava from flowing. I would assume since they are made from wool and wood they would burn?

i dont see a problem with it. like if a griefer put lava there it wouldnt get affected 😉

@unknown, I know you were joking, but I am putting this here anyway as general information. Banners are wood items, as axes break them the fastest (as a matter of fact, I am the one that put that on the Minecraft Wiki). Every wood item in Minecraft burns, so banners should too.

Chests and signs don't.

Yeah, all the "don't burn" reports should probably be consolidated into one.

I don't think this should be a bug because chest and signs (both don't burn) are wooden blocks that the player edits (chest by items inside, signs by the text) - banners are also player edited and so fall into the category of user editable blocks (which when you may have put a mob head into its crafting you wouldn't want it to burn)

@unknown that's all included in MC-3263 as well. Look in the related list.
Confirmed for 16w20a

FVbico - That's my point - Chests and signs don't burn as they store data in them (items or picture) and so can be hard to recreate so I feel that banners are the same and so also should not burn

Nevertheless, wood and wool burn, so why not products of them? a banner = wood+wool, a chest = wood, a sign = wood, wood burns, no excuse why the others shouldn't burn.

Included it in MC-3263.
