When an item is dropped naturally or thrown into a hopper, the item normally shows up in the hopper's inventory. When the item is teleported to the area of the hopper using the tp command, the item will still be "sucked in" by the hopper as normal, but the item never shows up in the hopper's inventory. This is breaking some redstone components, as it was working as recently as 14w31b.
