[MC-68497] Cut/Copy function updates clipboard even if nothing is selected

In chat:
1) Copy some text to fill the clipboard.
2) Paste text.
3) Without select anything, press cmd+X
4) Paste text. Nothing happens because the clipboard was updated when it shouldn't have been.
5) Repeat steps 1-4 using cmd+C instead.
(Use cmd on OS X and ctrl on Windows/Linux)

Confirmed on Ubuntu 14.04 in Minecraft 1.7.10. I am like 99% sure this affects all operating systems and all Java Runtime Environments, and is a Minecraft bug.

Confirmed on Windows 7 in Minecraft 14w34d. It's a malfunction of java or rather a bad programming way to get and save the clipboard.

Confirmed (Windows 8.1, Java 8).
Very annoying when you want to do ctrl+v in a command block and you do ctrl+c instead.

Are you sure? The bug still says Unresolved and, according to the list of bugs fixed, this is not one of them.

I tested it in person on 1.8.1-pre3

Also, a LOT of bugs are fixed but not resolved on this site right away or ever until users report it.
