Delay of Time durring play

game play has slowed down to almost a halt at times, will freeze when holding down the mouse button. Can stand in one place for a short while before freezing up. Time of day is going extremely fast put character hardly moves. I believe this to be a "major" error within the new upgrade of 1.8. My game was working just fine a day or so ago. I would like to have that game mode back and forget the upgrade until it is fixed please 🙂 . I cant live without my minecraft. help help ehlp helpe lehlepl ehelp help
