Screen goes black when "highlighting" players in spectator mode

When the highlight key is pressed, the nearby players that would be highlighted, are highlighted but the entire screen goes black and the highlighted player is visible, no terrain is properly rendered just an entirely black screen with just the highlighted player visible; for the duration the highlight key is pressed.

Happens in 1.8.1-pre4 with AMD Catalyst 14.9:

OpenGL: AMD Radeon HD 5570 GL version 4.4.13084 Compatibility Profile Context 14.301.1001.0, ATI Technologies Inc.

Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds while in-game and attach the crash report ([minecraft/crash-reports/crash-<DATE>-client.txt|http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/finding-minecraft-data-folder]) here.

Your Java is slightly outdated, update to 1.7U67 or 1.8U20

Retry without resource packs.

Also experiencing the issue with different graphics.

My crash report file with latest video drivers and Java update. Black screen still occurring.

Confirmed by Searge, "Not working as intended".
