it's not fake player names, bcos it's in a different "box", the player one has lighter background

i would try to recreate it in vanilla, but i dont know what to search for, do you know what it is? a tab list title? idk, but the client shouldnt be able to display it if it hasnt been coded into it, so someone has to know what that is client-side
My theory for this is it is using a new entitiy in minercaft called "ArmorStand". So these text above and below players in tab list is called Header and Footer and which I see it on Spigot Servers. What I think is that when a player press tab or has tab list open, a plugin checks for a player that has it open, making stacks of ArmorStands with DataTags of {Invisible:1,DisabledSlots:999999999,NoGravity:1,CustomName:"NAME",CustomNameVisible:1} getting teleported in front of the player in amount of distance. But it would not explain how the header and footer text still shows when going to singleplayer or a different server. Another theory I have is scoreboard. There could be an objective setdisplayed in list. The header and footer could be show as there is an NBTTag called "RenderType". By default, its integer. So unless there is other RenderTypes like maybe string, then that could be it.
i dont think it's armor stands, it's called Headers and Footers, and they are in some spigot servers, and some bukkit ones, the thing is that it MUST be something mojang allowed to do, either intentionally or unintentionally, it's not an entity trickery, it's a "data" that the client knows how to read, and that some servers, know how to send
does that mean they can fix a bug, not release the fix version, and mark it as fixed? there should be a way to mark that (fixed but the fix version is not released)
That is correct. We do not make a new release for every single bug we fix.
Please see the "Fix Version" field at the top of the page, it very clearly says that it's a future (unreleased) version.

I was on my friends server, w/ headers and footers they showed.
I went on to mine, still there.
Very annoying, but if you have the plugin on the server your going to it should change.
This ticket is invalid as it relates to a modified or 3rd party client, server, or launcher.
Any non-standard client/server/launcher build needs to be taken up with the appropriate team, not Mojang.
Any plugin issues need to be addressed to the creator of the plugin or resource pack.
This site is for addressing issues related to the base unmodded Minecraft; Bukkit, Forge, Optifine, modded servers such as The Hive, Overcast, Showbot, Hypixel or any other modded system invalidates your ticket, unless the behavior can be reproduced in Vanilla.
Additionally, if you have problems on large-scale modded servers, please report it to their site. It's probably not a bug in Vanilla Minecraft.
