50MB Resource Pack Size Limit Too Small

The 50MB size limit is quite expansive for a texture pack, but with the new resource pack system, a pack can have other purposes. The pack I use on my server happens to be a sound pack.

Unfortunately, OGG files apparently take up a lot of space. So even excluding the sound-effects, 50MB is not even enough for all of the songs in the game to be changed. At normal compression, you get around 62MB, and high compression brings it down to around 55, but takes longer to load. In this case, each OGG is at 96 kbps, any lower and it would just sound awful. Therefore, I think the limit should be increased to 70 or 80MB.

I think this is a bug and not a feature request. Even the vanilla textures are growing in size and thus being able to add resource packs up to a resolution of 512, the server administrators should be able to add resource packs without any limitation of the file size.
Why not implement a screen like suggested here?
Even if not implementing the above suggestion, it is not much work to raise the limit! Even simply removing the limitation is not much work.
And as you can see at MC-5238, that issue wasn't rejected.

I agree with Marian this is silly to limit the texture pack size. I just spent a few hours trying to understand this logic. I think this is a bug!

This is a feature and fully by design, asking to raise the limit or to remove it is a change/feature request and not a bug.

As for the other bug report, that was not resolved by the devs, the devs raised the limit without even seeing the ticket, and as such the ticket got resolved by moderators.

Why was this even resolved when it was not changed?
