Preexisting vines on east and west sides of blocks are rendered at the wrong face of the block (floating)

the vines are floating in the sky but not in 1.8/1.8.1

My vines moved as well. I live in a swamp and have a jungle nearby and all the vines on the east sides and west sides of the trees have moved out one block from where they were and are now floating. Vines on the north or south-facing surfaces of the trees have not moved out. Using 1.8.2 pre 4.

Did the vines actually move one block or are they still in the same block but rendered at the wrong face ?

The vines did not move a block, they simply moved to the opposite side of the same block, making them appear to be floating one block away from the tree. I can place vines on east/west surfaces just fine, but preexisting vines on east-west surfaces have shifted position.

Confirmed.
Placed vines in 1.8.1, rendering was OK in 1.8.2-pre1, pre2, pre3 but not in pre4.
In 1.8.2-pre4 replaced vines are then floating in 1.8.1
Seems to be a bug in the model files.

That seems to be an error in the actual block metadata for vines. Perhaps they changed it from pre3 to pre4.

could be posible, because newly placed vines are hanging on the correct side

because newly placed vines are hanging on the correct side

But revert to the then wrong side when loading that world in 1.8.2-pre3 (and older versions)

The actual block data for the vines is being changed.

The issue seems to only effect when placing on block faces, facing East and West in 1.8.2pre4.

Ooopsie! Fixed 🙂
