In Singleplayer, when you turn the Reduced Debug Info to Off you will get to see the coordinates. In Realms when you turn the Reduced Debug Info to Off, it does'nt work...

The server (realms) has an option to force reduced debug info no matter which option the client prefers. The realm you're playing on probably has reduced debug info disabled.
Forward-resolved this into MC-304986 since the title and description of that report make it suitable as the main ticket for this issue.
