If you ride on a pig and walk agains a 1.9 block (example: chorus/ end stone bricks) it won't jump on the block. I haven't tested this with horses.

Confirmed: pigs cannot walk up the Chorus Plants, but can walk up the end stone bricks and purpur blocks. Horses are able to walk up all of the blocks.
