On Minecraft servers that have autokick with the "Disconnected" message, if I shift off the edge I don't get kicked,

It's self explanatory, whenever I shift off an edge and stay like that and go to bed I'm still on the server the next day.

Is this still an issue in 15w44b? If so, please explain the issue in detail and provide steps to reproduce it.
