Redstone Lamps behave inconsistently

The placement of Glowstone Lamps provides asymmetric, and thus, unexpected behavior. The wood blocks are half slabs on the same layer as the glowstone lamps.

Notice that the pattern is symmetric , but some blocks fail to light.

I browsed for this and I appear to be the first one to report this for the lamps. This one is very obvious though. I hope that doesn't mean that bugs in redstone behavior are not considered as authentic/true bugs.

In the meantime, construction on my build is on hold until this is fixed.

Thanks,

Tim Legg

Well, just kidding about all work being on hold 🙂

The slabs aren't actually powered by the redstone dust and as such do not power the redstone lamp. I don't know why some of the redstone lamps are powered, you probably put solid blocks next to those.

I recommend placing redstone dust on top of the redstone lamps to fix your issue.

The redstone lamps are the only solid block used. The rest are exclusively half slabs. I have no idea how the two lamps are getting power. I believe the structure still exists, so it is still open to experimentation.

At this point I can't help you without a world download or a lot of screenshots/a video.
