Shift+clicking shield from inventory to shield slot

When I shift+click my shield in my inventory, it will not go into the shield slot. However, shift+click works fine for shift+clicking the shield out of the shield slot and into the inventory.

Come on Mojang, it really can't be that hard to fix a little thing like this. I just really hope they fix it before 1.9 (Monday).
