The dot and lines conflict with each other(I think it's called z-fighting?). First two pictures are showing the broken dot in the cross and corner.
[media] shows that it worked properly in Minecraft 1.8.9.
Using the CodeCrafted texture pack (or any pack that uses a clean redstone dust texture) makes it quite easy to see. An easy fix would be to make the redstone dots render on top of the redstone lines.
of the CodeCrafted pack with the custom model removed.

It actually affects ALL texturepacks, not just the Codecrafted one. It is just unnoticeable in the default one. The mention of the codecrafted 1.9 texture pack is just an example of when it becomes really obvious and ugly.
@unknown: even though you added 1.12.2 to the affected version list, I'm not able to reproduce with 1.12.2 and the latest version of the CodeCrafted ressource pack. See https://imgur.com/a/zlgOQ
Please try it again with updated versions.
I am still able to reproduce the bug in 1.12.2, z-fighting still occurs. The CodeCrafted pack has found a workaround, they made a custom model for the redstone dot. The original issue still persists though, in that without a custom model, the redstone dot, and lines are still z-fighting.
I'm not sure if I would consider this a bug, since the vanilla redstone dust textures and model are specifically created to work together (no overlapping pixels, not connected at rising corners) and people who want to aim for a connected look are now able update the models as well.
Does this still affect the latest versions of the game (Snapshot 20w21a)? If so, please update this ticket accordingly.
