Launcher asks me to log in but never comes back

Earlier today the new launcher connected me immediately. Now it asks for my login information and essentially waits forever. Probably a connection error, but it should at least time out and allow me to play without a network connection.

(And I have no idea if this is the correct version number; "About this launcher" gives me "426 (1)" which is not one of the options above.)
