Whenever I try to click play on the minecraft launcher, I get this error:
Unable to locate the Java runtime.

I'm having a similar issue where I cannot start the game, I do not have the launcher log text in my files either
There's no indication in the posted log file about any issues. There's also only one attached file, despite there being two people who commented that they uploaded the file. Please find the correct file and attach it to the report.
Hey Everyone. It's me Derek Miller. I'm on a different account because I forgot the PW to my old one. I did find a fix for this, but it's brutal. The bug happens when something is deleted or missing in the files, so I put my stuff on a hard drive and factory reset my computer. It works fine after doing that. Just something to take into consideration. I get if many of you do not want to / or simply do not have this option due to other complications.
Hello! We're sorry you're experiencing this problem. In order to diagnose the problem, we need to look at your launcher log file. It's called launcher_log.txt, and can be found in your Minecraft folder. Please attach it to this bug report.
