Upon Clicking play in order to start up Minecraft, I receive this error:
Unable to locate the Java runtime.
Error details: Undefined error: 0

I just bought the game - any help is appreciated.

Hello! In the latest beta version of the Launcher we have added more debug diagnostics to find the cause of this issue. Please switch to the Beta version in settings, try starting the game again and attach a new launcher_log.txt.
