We are aware of this issue and are working on improving the downloading experience. I can't give any ETA or workaround currently - make sure you have a stable connection and retry until you are able to download the game fully.

Even tho the log file says it stopped the download after 60 seconds of slow connection. This is not true. My connection is stable and fast and the error occurs after no slow down / stop of the download. It seems the launcher thinks, that the download is stuck even tho this is not the case.

I can't download more than 70mb then the installation stops with the message in the top right corner. My connection is stable and trying more times leads always to the download failure. I don't want to be rude, but I hope mojang will release a new functionig client launcher.

I saw that the downloading is stopped if you have a connection problem during less than 1 second. I think you can just increase the time before your timeout detection.

I just tested a theory and it worked for me, it might work for you as well, but I tried letting it download 100MB, pause the download, wait 10 seconds and resume for another 100MB and repeat.

I am curious if this works for others

@Cyril this should only happen if the connection issue is 60seconds long accordingg to the log file. It seems that the timer of the launcher is miscounting 60seconds.

@Florian is there a way to delay the timer? because the Duncan's method works only if you know the exact time of reset.

No this is built in to the launcher. We are looking into extending and/or improving network operations.

I've been trying to download the game for more than 5 hours, and nothing works. The game resets downloading after 5 and half minutes after start of download. I hope Mojang will not do update for the launcher for a week, 'cause I want to play now(

same problem here, but I feel like its a problem with my internet, cause any file (ex. videos) I try to download says Failed - Network Error. But anyway hope y'all figure this out

@Andrea, it is more pause after every 100MB is downloaded and waiting 10 seconds to resume

Could adjust the amount downloaded depending on the internet speed

I have the same issue, and in the log file, i can see this error :

in a other time, i see this error :

My Internet connection has no problem, I have no break.

Dear @Mojang, can you say approximately when can you release the launcher update? I really want to play since the game was bought and I want to get impressions of it! Hope for understading 🙂

I had the same problem.

I read that it might have to do with a slow internet connection over a longer amount of time. (My internet-speed was around 0.5Mbit when I tried to download the game). So today I went to a friend with a faster connection and after 1 minute of downloading, the game finally installed.

having the same issue, hope for a fix soon as I don't have any friends nearby to beg to use their connection.
