Unable to load due to failed dependencies

Possible Fix

This issue seems to be caused by Unreal Engine 4 Prerequisites not being able to install correctly on Windows. Other Unreal Engine users have reported this, and found a solution. Please see the UE4 AnswerHub discussion: Unable to Install UE4 due to PrereqSetup

I installed the game earlier today, after pre-ordering Minecraft Dungeons at the start of the month. After installation, I got an error message stating it failed to find dependencies. After installing DirectX (UE4 Prerequisites (x64); another message appeared saying "One or more issues caused the setup to fail. Please fix the issues and then retry setup. For more information see the log file."

0x80070643 - Fatal error during installation.

I have attempted to repair, only to find nothing happened. I was hoping to play a bit before heading off to work.. Feels like Vanilla Warcraft all over again, lol.

I saw you posted on my bug (MCD-1521). I am happy it not just me, but this is sad that we are dealing with this issue. This make no sense to me because, I have Minecraft PC: Java Edition (1.15.2 and Snapshot 20w21a) which working completely fine. Mojang you guys should have done a free trial, I would NOT have paid for this if it's still broken.

Hi, if you are running into this problem I am afraid Mojang Studios can't really help out 😞

This is happens when installing prerequisites to get Unreal Engine to run on Windows, which Minecraft Dungeons then uses as a game engine. Mojang Studios is not technically the developers of Unreal Engine so we have limited knowledge of what causes the problem, or the ability to fix it. I've attached a possible fix in the description that I found after some searching around on the web - if it doesn't work I suggest checking the Epic Games forums for other users that might have been able to solve this.

If you manage to fix the problem please feel free to share it here so that others might fix it in the future too. Best of luck!
