However in Minecraft Launcher , it's incredibely slow, something like 1mb per minute.. since i can't see the download speed there.

2mbps speed is around 250KBps speed that is extremely slow and it should take time to download at that speed

I've been installing on my Mac for like 2 hours now, my download speed is typically 100mb/s but I simply cannot get through the 400mb download after an hour

I got the same problem, I bought the game today, the first download after installation and starting the launcher is incredible slow on a 250 MBit/s connection...

Can also replicate this downloading Java Minecraft for the first time on this Windows PC. 192MB/400.23MB installed. Speedtest.net result: https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/d/69e733cc-54bc-4a48-98c1-6f4d2167b5d3

This issue has been around for years. I think it might be local to Australia. Can this PLEASE be fixed. So frustrating going as slow at 0.1mbps.

My experience: The download from MSStore was not progressing, so after 10 minutes I paused it, and it reported 0.10KB of 46.75 was complete.

Next I followed Rosario-Francesco's instruction, and winget installed MinecraftInstaller.msi (2.54MB) in about 30s.

I had slow download experience today too. Let me describe detailed how that was looking:
I downloaded client, logged in and pressed that big green button to download and install the game changing nothing (latest release 1.19.4 was selected).

The next 15-20 minutes (not sure) it was downloading pretty slow, so I opened Task manager to inspect if I have any troubles on any point. But all seems to be calm - processor load on minimum values (from 0% to 20% with average 5%-8%), RAM around 1/3 with minor changes, SSD load was high sometimes but not even 1/4 of time, like something was waiting to write down files once per some period/event, also, I have good network and download speed wasn't very big average 5-10 Mb/s (enough to go up to 100 Mb/s on a WiFi and up to 500-600 Mb/s on a wired connection not only by specs but at practice as well).

Suprisingly after downloading around half of files ~300Mb/~650Mb I lost the exact point but all next things happened in 1-2 minutes and installation was succesfully finished.

I'm fine with such behavior and not worried too much. But maybe this information can help you to make your product better.

Thank you for your attention.

Yeah we may need to come back to this again- like download speeds are extremely fast but when using both a legacy launcher and the newest one, its extremely slow, its like somethings blocking it, but it wouldnt be my network whatsoever ecause it runs at 20mb/s...
Ive brought up concerns about launcher issues before but they've always been shrugged off. the issue persists.

I have the same issue for some reason minecraft launcher doesn't using my network correction or my drives properly. I have 75mbps dowload speed yet it uses around 1-2mbps when I try to install releases. It downloads some of the files around %15 to %20 percent and then download stops for a reason. I checked this on task manager to see if it writes the downloaded files on drive but it doesn't using my drives too. This also effects in game, when I try to join a server it takes long time and sometimes gives network errors and when I join I have a lot latency. I tried different things such as uptading minecraft, reinstalling, repairing, restarting pc and many more yet none worked.

Thank you for your report!
