Minecraft Launcher tells me it has encountered an error and does not show me any of my installations. I already deleted it and installed it back and the problem did not go away.

I have found a solution to the problem, On Linux, (Currently using latest Ubuntu)
1st. I made sure everything is up to date, ensuring that my JDK was up to date, and everything revolving minecraft was up to date.
2nd. Opening up the minecraft launcher I opened the settings.| Under settings, I checked every box that was listed. One of the options required a restart for the browser.
After restart I was able to use the launcher and launch my game. Not sure, if this will work with everyone, but this worked with me.
I have the same problem but on pc.
