Hello, I just purchased Java edition & got an error when trying to download. Screenshot attached. I have the Bedrock edition previously downloaded on this laptop.

So, i had the same issue, and to fix that, i opened the installer and uninstalled it, after that, just reinstalling the game would solve the problem!!!!
So, just closing out of the installer & going back into it fixed the issue. Sorry, noob here 😃 used to bedrock!

Hello I had a similar issue, I am on MacOS, but downloading Java fixed it. I suggest updating Java or uninstalling and reinstalling java.
