Cannot login to minecraft java edition after migration to microsoft

Im having the same problem. After migrating the account to Microsoft your old login info is invalidated, can't use it anymore. When logged with Microsoft in both the game and the website, it says I dont own the Java game. Tried contacting support but they're not helpful

Hey All-  I figured it out!  Well, at least my problem of not being able to log in to play Minecraft Java after migration to microsoft account.  Mojang kept just closing my support tickets, telling me it was a microsoft problem... when there was nothing wrong with my microsoft account! 

So-  I kept getting 'invalid email or password' when trying to log in.  I completely deleted ALL files/folders related to 'mojang' and 'minecraft' , emptied 'trash' of all deleted files/folders and then did a clean install of Minecraft Java and was able to log in using microsoft credentials.  I literally spent 10n hours trying to figure this out.  I had tried deleting the app and re-installing, but in order for that to work, youb have to get into all the hidden files/folders...  link here:  https://macflypro.com/uninstall-guides/delete-minecraft.html

I just migrated my son's Mojang account to a microsoft account. I had to create the account right then and there. Now when I login, it says I must purchase Minecraft Java Edition and only allows me to play a demo?!

EDIT:

its seems account creation completely halts the migration process. So you have to create the new account, then once again try to migrate the mojang account to the microsoft account. It will let you know when its fully migrated and to login with your microsoft account next time. Then when you open minecraft java edition again, it will require you click "back" and "add an account" to login using your microsoft account. This was all done on a Linux Manjaro machine so you don't need a windows install to do this.

I am having the same issues and I have windows. No matter how many times I have tried to figure out what's wrong, cant seem to get anywhere. I tried contacting Mojang and they told me it was Microsoft, then when I contacted Microsoft they told me they couldn't help that its Mojang that has to help me. All Mojang does is send me links unrelated to my issues or continues to tell me that its Microsoft that has to help. I'm at a lost for what to do. I have windows so I'm not too sure if I should kinda follow these steps or what?? Please help

@jayla I migrated my account and it said I was playing offline.  So I click Reauth Account.  It says the account information is incorrect no matter what I put in.  If I try to use my e-mail address it says Gone (410) - The requested resource is no longer available at the server and no forwarding address is known.

I have narrowed the issue down to Forge installations.  When I try to play Minecraft Forge that is the only time I see the authentication issue.
