I found a similar bug already as issue MCPE-125648 (https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-125648), which is already closed without any solution.
The issue exists when having installed the launcher using the debian package with version 928. The package was upgraded from version 2.2.1867, where switching accounts is working properly. After the upgrade, I also tried to delete ~/.minecraft but the issue remained.
When having configured multiple accounts properly and tested with 2.2.1867, I try to select a different account from the drop down on the top left of the window. No matter which of the accounts I select, it directly jumps back to the already selected one.
When I start the launcher through a command prompt, there are no error messages / exceptions / ...
The only error I see occurs earlier: "sh: 1: orca: not found"
Switching through Settings -> Accounts -> <activate> is working.

I have additional findings to this issue. The same issue exists on the drop-down selecting the Minecraft version.
Additionally: The problem exists only for selection through the mouse. When I click into the drop-down, switch to an entry using cursor-up/down and select this item by pressing <ENTER>, the drop-down is working properly
Still exists as of 2.2.11106. This issue has not been fixed for over 7 months.

Hi there!
Does this issue still occur to you on the newest version of the Launcher?
This ticket will automatically reopen when you reply.
Still happening:
You cannot select a version to create a new installation using the mouse. The drop-down list of versions flashes briefly on the screen, then closes. Also, once you have created multiple installations, you cannot switch between them using a mouse click on the pop-up list next to the play button: the click simply closes the list without selecting the clicked option. You need to hover the mouse over the item and press Enter instead.

Just an FYI, MCPE is the Bedrock Project. MC and MCL are Java Projects. Here's a link to all projects.
