If I am not online for a period of time and decide to play MC, I only get access to Demo Mode. I have to go online, reopen launcher, then all is fine (I have access to full game). If I then go offline, close launcher and reopen, I still have access to the full game.
Having this issue only after migration. Would appear launcher forgets after a while.
Is really annoying as I only play single player.

One more reason to hate Microsoft, it seems.

This happens to me as well, but I do not have a "grace period" between online and offline play. The moment I go offline, I am unable to play Minecraft.

if anyone fixed the problem please tell me what to do because the minecraft support team does not help

@unknown You're the MVP! Now let's see if they remove that button in the next update. I bet they will. I still think this is intentional. All these new modern games are requiring internet to verify the installation isn't pirated before being allowed to play. ex: GTA 5

There's a setting in the Microsoft Store that allows you to store offline credentials for offline play. I believe the XBox app also has such a setting, because I had to set it up to play GTA 5 offline, but that too was forgotten by the game after a day or so, preventing me from playing. Not sure if the new launcher requires both Microsoft and XBox offline permissions to be set, but you may want to give it a shot when you're online again.
When I looked into the XBox forgetting login credentials, I discovered it was done intentionally to prevent pirating. The XBox app requires online access every day or two to verifythe installation. Hence why I suspect this new issue with the launcher is intentional as well.

If this does turn out to be intentional, our only option would be to use a pirated 3rd party launcher, or a pirated copy of the entire game. A game which we paid for already and legally own. Such ridiculousness.

Most of the time, I can't play offline. Very rarely, it lets me, but if I close the game and then open it again, it will only let me play the demo.
It looks like the only option is a cracked version to even play offline and that's ridiculous. I bought the game over a decade ago. I shouldn't have to pirate the game to play it offline

Thanks for letting me know not to upgrade my launcher, sorry about yours. Looks like we're going to have to be more persistent if we want to get this shit solved.

I used this guide from the XBox support website. Hope it helps:

This is major bug and please fix it as soon as possible. I have Minecraft only to play then the internet connection is gone. After upgrading launcher it is not working and it is main functionality for a game !!! Offline gaming is turned on - it wont help.
Hi Phil!
Could you answer few questions regarding this issue, it will help with the investigation:
Does this issue still occurs to you on newest version of Launcher?
After what time does the issue occur?
Does Clicking "Play demo" launch demo game or full version?
Is there a "Play demo" button in 'Installations' tab? If yes does clicking it launch Full or demo version?
Are you logged in in both Xbox app, MS store, and Launcher with the same MS account ?
Is your Windows and associated apps (Xbox app, MS store) up-to-date?
Could you provide us with more in-depth repro steps?

Hi there!
Please sign in in Xbox app, MS store, and Launcher with the same MS account on the newest version of the Launcher
One more question, are you using MS store Launcher or older version of the Launcher?

Using ms account on whatever the latest update on pc is. It was updated recently
still getting play demo
opened minecraft
play demo only option
on the bottom it says oh no something went wrong cannot connect to minecraft services
user -> manage account
logs into https://account.xbox.com/en-us/profile?rtc=1
I see my account. Not sure if it should list the games I have. It doesn't.
It was working fine the day before. This issue was reported by many uses in the Discord channel.
I have been playing on this pc for years, I was forced to migrate my account long ago

This happens to me on linux - there's no MS store, Xbox app, etc. to be involved.

I am using mac, and the same thing occurs. I can't play except the demo version, and when I go to the installations tab and click 'play offline', it opens the demo version anyway. Would really appreciate a fix.

I vote for this issue since I have 2 account with 1 License of Java edition each, 2 Ps4 version, 1 Xbox 360 version, 1 Android Version : All bought before the new launcher was made. I assume that as a good client I deserve to have the Offline mode for my personal computer which existed when I bought the game multiple of time.
@mojang: Please understand that Offline mode was a right when we bought the game, we paid it, we respected our part, could you please make the permanent offline mode feature being available again as it was in the past ? Thank you in advance
To help us try and repro the issue: Do you have any information about how long the period of time is before the online log in is required again?

I also have this problem, already submitted an issue before I found this MCL-22329. For me, it forces me to log in with my Microsoft Account every time I open the launcher. It can't do this if I am offline, causing me to be unable to play the full game (because without my account, it can't verify I own the full game). Also, there is no "Remember Me" option when I log in.
Hi there!
Do you have Xbox app, Xbox companion app and Xbox identity provider?
Are you logged in with the same account in all of these?
Please also check dependencies section in Xbox apps 'settings' (If possible).

I don't believe I have those apps installed, I just know that when I log in (when connected to internet) it logs me in with my Microsoft/Xbox account, and when I am not online it refuses to remember who I am and won't log me in.
Please then install those apps.
Please also check if you might have or use incompatible software on machine you try to log-in or VPN.
Please also uninstall the Launcher, delete .minecraft folder (copy its content elsewhere before deletion) and then reinstall, restart your computer. Then please try to boot the Launcher.

Hello, I was sent from my report to here
I have none of the incompatible software on me, the option of the launcher I did apply, delete the folder, deleted the launcher, even deleted tokens from previous logins but the issue remains
It should be noted that I play through a Linux enviroment so the Xbox apps and such I have no idea if they are a solution to my issue
I am also having this problem. I cannot play offline. I very much doubt this is intended. It didn't use to be like this. Before, you could boot up the game and if it couldn't connect, it would tell you that you could play offline. Now if you aren't online, you can't connect to your MS account so you can't play.
I regret migrating
