I had been playing Minecraft before however I was stuck on revision 1.18 so I uninstalled and installed the new launcher for the first time. I tried to install bedrock from there, but button just grays out and nothing happens afterwards.

i have the same issue every time i open the launcher, no matter which drive i install it to. when i try to install it from the microsoft store it wont work either
I'm having the same problem, I am trying to reinstall this game so I can fix another issue relating to this game about an outdated client error, now it's telling me I cannot reinstall this game. Two fatal bugs in a single update, how do Mojang manage this? additionally myself and some other's are having problems rejoining their home servers. What is going on?
Yeah, I used the Microsoft store first cause both my bedrock and Java are connected then I tried the website. And then I tried to find just the bedrock version but it just downloaded the launcher too. I was so mad yesterday. I just wanted to play bedrock cause my family plays on it.
I can play Java Edition perfectly fine, but trying to install Bedrock Edition gives this. It doesn't matter what drive I try to install it on; none work.

Go to the Microsoft Store application (https://aka.ms/MSStoreHome) - and go to Libraryand be sure you've cancelled all/any other installation attempts for this application.
You must install it on the C drive, so then you can navigate back to it (https://aka.ms/JavaBedrockEdition ) and click through to Bedrock or just click Install there and it should install Bedrock successfully via the Store.

Same thing here. When I first tried to download Bedrock, it said "error" and the download wouldn't start (See attached screenshot). After closing and opening launcher again, I could try to install it again, but after that the button just stays grayed out and the download doesn't start.
