The launcher does not open so i deleted and now I am trying to reinstall it but it says "Looks like something went wrong" then " we weren't able to install the app (0xUnknown Appinistall)

Hi there!

Could you try and install the Launcher in MS store / Xbox app?
Could you try and delete .minecraft folder (Copy its content elsewhere before deletion) before reinstalling the Launcher?
Please also sign in on Ms store, Xbox app and Xbox Companion (if you dont have it please install it) with the same account.

i have removed all traces of the game from my computer that i can find, was singed in to all three of the accounts listed above at the same time, have also tried installing from both of the stores and it still will not install the launcher was able to gain access to the game through overwolf though maybe there was a conflict so i removed that program also its been weeks since ive been able to play and im getting a little annoyed at this point

Before next step, please see if your antivirus and Windows firewall does not block the Launcher (see if the Launcher is allowed through firewall).

Can you please go to Apps (apps & features) in Windows settings, click each app (Xbox app, Ms store, Xbox companion, Launcher) then click advanced options, and then click on each one, 'Terminate' and 'Reset', then uninstall the Launcher, delete .minecraft folder (copy its content elsewhere before deletion) and then reinstall, restart your computer. Then please try to boot the Launcher.

i have check my firewall and everything is allowed through them and i have reset everything as described in the above message. it still will not install however now the Xbox app freezes when it trys to to install it ending it shutting its self down. the Microsoft store has been acting strange this time also it wasn't allowing me to view anything past the main page

For MS store, could you please try and re-register the store?
Open Windows Terminal or Powershell (it should be already installed on your PC) and paste one of these commands, then press enter.

Im very hating demo mode

Hello, I'm in the same situation and have tried everything in this thread.  Trying to install through the xbox app store, through the MS store or the downloaded installer from minecraft.net.

It is very frustrating because my son spent $30 on it and we literally can't figure out what happened (it just stopped working one day) and how to get it back in working order (other than maybe completely wiping Windows and installing from scratch; which of course we'd like to avoid...)
