Hi there!

Could you try to reinstall the Launcher? After deleting it, find .minecraft and delete the file - what is important that this file should be deleted from the trash bin, as corrupted files from the old .minecraft file may interract with the newly generated .minecraft file.

  • Does this issue occur on the newest version of Launcher?

  • Are you sure you logged in in both Xbox app, MS store, and Launcher with the same MS account?

  • Have you tried signing out of all your Windows Apps, and the signing in again?

  • Is your Windows and associated apps (Xbox app, MS store) up-to-date?

  • Have you tried installing the Launcher on a different drive?

  • Have you tried downloading 'Xbox Identity Provider', 'Xbox Live In Game Experience', 'Gaming Services' and 'Xbox Companion'?

  • Do you use VPN or any of the incompatible software on machine you try to log-in?

Hello, I also have the same problem, obviously I have the same account and everything is updated from the Microsoft store. The truth is that it is very annoying every time you log in I get that message. I hope it doesn't take long to update it.

I reported the problem like you said, i hope it'll help to resolve it.. And the issue doesn't appears to cause any problems in the areas you mentionned.

I hope we'll quickly be able to play minecraft again.

This bug is still present and completely bricks minecraft.

Edit: After I check to ignore the mismatch, launching the game results in an instant crash with error code no.1. Game completely bricked.

This is the same for me.  Been playing for years on the same account - reinstalled windows on a new machine yesterday - log into MS Store and Launcher using the same username as I have alsways done.  Comes up with the error "the accounts in the launcher and microsoft store do not match" - will only let me proceed to the demo version.

Tried a different machine, same error.

*Update - I have fixed this.  It turns out my son had changed the launcher account details at some point.  Have logged into the launcher on the correct account and it worked.

I also have this bug after resetting Windows. It does not seem to affect my ability to play any of the games. It's definitely the same account in both places.

Looks like despite all the solutions presented here - I still have the issue. Following @SeaLocust advice I created a Hub ticket on Monday. No comments yet, but I hope the team will be able to pick it up soon.

I also have this problem. Somethings I have noticed that may or may not help at all: 
1 the line "XalPlatform_gamecore.cpp(80)] Store State : NotMatched - Account detected" shows up in all three launcher logs and mine however mine says 85 instead of 80
2 the line "LauncherController.cpp(1398)] Windows Store Launcher is NotSupported" also shows up in all three logs and mine and again mine number is different. 1398 vs 1406
3 using the alternate download https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/alternative for windows 7/8 does not give me the error mentioned above but I still can not play online.

Okay so I have found a solution to this garbage account match bug that works consistently. I downloaded the java game from the xbox game account (it might ask for some gameservices account just install it, if that doesn't work go to your xbox account filles under the app list and make sure they are all running), then I downloaded the launcher from the Microsoft store. once you start it up from the microsoft store launcher click close on the accounts don't match warning and it should work. However still getting the error for curseforge launcher, working on it. Hope this helps.

EDIT : For people having trouble doing this through curseforge with fabric mods go to the fabric website and just download the launcher and latest version again, don't mess with your profile, it should work.

EDIT 2 : to make curseforge keep working make the newest version a profile and run and exit it before doing your other modpack

Microsoft quit labeling this as resolved because it isn't, fix your product we all paid for.

@coralcora ??? On gamepass or store, the java version isn't on it, you have the bedrock and java edition, bedrock only edtion and the launcher... And all this 3 edtions install the launcher....

I have the same problem with my account not matching the one in the Microsoft store and I can't seem to find a solution I'm on 1.19.4

Woke up to the same issues listed in the post. I've tried everything including, resetting Microsoft account credentials, ipconfig/dns flushing, manually deleting .minecraft files and reinstalling from Microsoft Store (logged into only Microsoft account). No positive results from any attempts. Still receive account mismatch error and unable to connect to any multiplayer server.

This is still an on going issue, it has happened to me and I have tried everything stated below. What is the fix from this support staff? I thought it was optifine causing this issue and removed every mod on my PC. Please can we have some eyes on this to resolve it ASAP. I have attached my screen shots. Not sure about the others but this is minecraft java edition on v2.4.39-1.2.4

Started having this issue today as well, the game worked just fine yesterday. I've tried reinstalling Minecraft several times, even tried the msi launcher and cleared my login tokens, every time it gives me the Invalid session error. the msi launcher didn't do it but every other time it told me that my Launcher and Microsoft store accounts were different (they aren't.)

Okay. So i had this error for MONTHS ever since i had to reinstall Windows on my pc but it never afected me. I used an alternative launcher anyways so it never gave me an error
BUT today i tried launching from the official one to see if it would impact my FPS and it wont let me enter servers, i reinstalled the launcher, game, cleared .minecraft folder i did EVRYTHING
so i went back to my alternative launcher and now even that wont let me into server, same error ingame people had described before me(invalid session)

Just now dealing with the same issues. I own the server, but I am the only one that cannot login due to the same issues I am seeing from others (invalid session, etc..)

I did see that this was a fix, but I would appreciate some elaboration:

  • Did you uninstall all Minecraft applications (including the launcher) and reinstall from the Xbox Game app? Or from the Microsoft store?

Morning all,

 

I just had my girlfriend log into my launcher and she could connect fine to all servers even with the mismatch error on the screen. I then closed minecraft launcher, opened again and got the error, logged back into my account and then could connect to a server. Closed the launcher again and reopened to test if it would work again if I stayed logged in and it did. So maybe it'll work if you do sign into another account on your launcher if you have one. Will test again later when I come to actually play to see if I have to do it again, this is pretty ridiculous though.

 

Also props to my girlfriend as I never would have tried this!

Just installed the launcher from https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9NXP44L49SHJ and upon loading the launcher, it got that error. I have doubled-checked my Microsoft Account settings and they are the same. This is an incorrect mismatch message.

Upon installing and opening the Minecraft Bedrock edition, it asked me to sign in and I did and that worked. It is ONLY the launcher that has an issue.

 

Sad to see the bug reporting handling for this game has not improved in the two years I have been gone...

First of all, please read the panel. That being said, this bug shouldn't cause any issues with actually playing the game. So if you are unable to play, it is almost certainly some other bug you are encountering. The developers are working very hard to come up with a fix for this bug.
