Moderator Note
The current workaround for this issue is to delete the launcher profiles:
In the launcher, click "Edit Profile" -> "Open Game Dir".
Close the launcher.
Delete the launcher_profiles.json file.

Reopened because of MCL-2500
In MCL-2850 this is probably caused by Optifine.
