I tried restarting the launcher but the same thing happens; it lets me play Bedrock but not Java.

I’m experiencing an identical issue, I tried launching the game through a mod loader and it worked just fine, so I'm sure I still own the game
Theres a very simple solution to this! you just have to click on ‘'Play demo’' but it just launches the normal game, not the demo. After you launched the game with the play demo button, it should go back to normal (that was my case)
