minecraft.dmg for mac downloaded from the official website still requires Rosetta 2

The latest Minecraft Launcher now supports Apple Silicon with a Universal build. However, the macOS installer downloaded from the official Minecraft website still provides Launcher version 2.1.3, released in September 2024, which is Intel-only and requires Rosetta 2 to run on Apple Silicon Macs for the first time.

Please consider updating the official macOS download page to provide separate downloads for Intel Macs and Apple Silicon (M-series) Macs, and provide a download link for the native Apple Silicon/Universal version of the Launcher that removes the requirement of Rosetta2 support.

As above. This bug was incompletely addressed in MCL-22108 . That bug is in no way resolved. Installing Minecraft on a new, modern macOS system should not ever require installing Rosetta 2. https://aka.ms/minecraftClientMac ← This file a.k.a. Minecraft.dmg needs to be updated not to require Rosetta 2. Try again, please.

This issue still persists, affecting every macOS 27 user who hasn’t manually re-installed Rosetta 2.
