I try to start the game but as soon as i press the play button, a message pops up stating "Game Crash
An unexpected issue occurred and the game has crashed. We're sorry for the inconvenience."
The game output shows me the following

23:14:00 launcher Error occurred during initialization of VM
agent library failed to init: instrument
Error opening zip file or JAR manifest missing : libraries\io\netty\NettyAgent-1.0.jarBefore it wouldn't even show me the logs...
Is there a fix for that?, if so, i would very much appreciate any help.

Okay guys, i solved it... at least it works for me now.
you must uninstall the game, then windows key+ R and type %appdata% then you have to delete the whole .minecraft folder (you can back up your saves first) now all you have to do is reinstall the game, at least that's how i solved it for me.

Having the exact same issue!! Please can anyone help? Got given someone's laptop, loaded Minecraft and this happens whenever I try play. Have uninstalled, redownloaded, tried again and again - still nothing. 😞

You should try cleaning out your Minecraft directories.
Clean:
%appdata%\.minecraft - keep saves & resourcepacks though!
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft

i have the same exact issue... when i get one the minecraft loading screen it just stops loading and says (not responding)
