It will open but not show up.

Have you tried the following:
Check your Java version and runtime.
Check your video driver details.
Check Windows Version.
Reinstalling Minecraft from drive\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft in Windows.
From "Programs and Files" in Windows.
Delete everything from %appdata%/.minecraft apart from resource packs, saves and anything else you deem important.

Please try these steps and hope for better results!

I've deleted the .minecraft files already
and reinstalled them

ill try i've not got rid of files in drive

have you tried running the old launcher which can be found here? Exe - Jar - try both please.

The old one with alternate download works, but it's very very slow.

I got the one with the alternative download on minecraft.net and it works but VERY VERY slow.
