My minecraft beta updated today, and since the update my chicken farm has stopped working. It takes advantage of the hitbox of a baby chicken being only half a block. They are dispensed onto a slab with a full block above them. before the update they suffocated only when adults, but after the update it at least appears that the hitbox of the baby chicken is registering the same as an adult chicken (1 full block).

@GoldenHelmet, no it does not. this happens with every baby chicken. For example, if you dispense an egg on a slab, with a full block above the slab with the slab boxed in, the baby chicken instantly suffocates despite the hitbox supposedly being half a block.
@Mega_Spud, I do not know the answer to this. I currently only have Access to the RTX version of the game as it is the beta that I have installed. However, this is the version that I am having this issue with, in addition to the lighting issue that has been submitted by another user regarding certain blocks not producing light (shroomlight, glowstone, sea pickle, redstone lamp).
edit: i have discovered that another block(s) does not emit light. this is lava, both as a source block and while flowing.
edit: i have created a bug ticket for the lighting issue. it is MCPE-103765
