Look, I know there's been multiple tickets on this since the Nether update, and I know you guys say that there's no issue and that everything is working as intended, but if that's the case, then the either a) make the mob spawnrate a variable the player can set, b) fix the lights so they cover more than '7' spaces, or c) fix what you "Fixed". I have friends who refuse to play with me because of an issue on Realms that I've already logged a ticket for or because of the mobs spawning.
We post Lights EVERYWHERE, and mobs still spawn. In the picture included, there were FIVE zombies in there that were sadly killed before the picture could be taken. I will update if I get a screenshot. They could not have come from another location as the room was completely closed off. This is not the first situation of mobs spawning where they should not.
This was not a problem until the Nether Update when you guys 'fixed' the despawning (and while I'm happy to not hear hidden zombies that didn't despawn anymore), this new spawning is ridiculous and I CANNOT believe that this is 'working as intended' when it literally makes the game unenjoyable. You can't even go outside at night without THREE creepers spawning at once, or FIVE Zombies spawning right in front of you. Every night is like a zombie siege, even if you're not at a village.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE either fix this issue or provide a solution in a future update that fixes the spawn rate. (Also, what was up with the SIX endermen in the SAME area of the nether????)

No. I don't want Peaceful. Peaceful has NO hostile mobs at all, and we WANT some hostile mobs (especially since we have an EXP farm.) How about you keep your rude unnecessary comments to yourself?
dude whats with the caps on ur words? and how is his comment rude? he literally was just telling u a solution to ur problem, how is he supposed to know u have and xp farm? my help would of been to get better at spawn proofing. If u did it right then it shouldn't be an issue. but from the looks of that picture u def don't know how to spawn proof correctly

Torches only block lighting up to 7 blocks from source (including the torch itself)
You may want to consider grid lighting instead of unorganised torch placement so that you can more effectively light up base areas
Okay, first off, to everyone commenting about how I should get better at spawn proofing, the first picture is a newbie's fort. Obviously a newbie isn't going to know the grid method I've used in this picture. Which is EXACTLY my point. And you know what? Monsters still spawn up here. And this? This looks ugly. Before the Nether update I didn't NEED to do this to this extent because it wasn't that bad. Now, I HAVE to do it to this extent because otherwise, I get 5 zombies, 3 creepers, 4 spiders, and a metric ton of skeletons all at once.
Now, with this layout, I get maybe 3 zombies. Which is what I used to get before they 'fixed' things.
[media]Also, There is a Grid in place. There's a Sea Lantern placed into the floor on the 5th of every block. The torches are like that because they were freaking out because of the mobs spawning in their home. Because with a sea lantern every 5 blocks, they didn't think that mobs could spawn in there.
So, could everyone complaining about 'spawn management' quit? Because that's not the solution here. Additionally, I know I'm not the only one to complain as when the nether update first happened, this site had plenty of complaints about the mob spawn rate (and still does to this day, although most of the ones now-a-days are about the wither skeletons in the fortresses and the ghasts/endermen in the nether.
And the reason they're focusing on those is probably because they've been told that "Everything is working as Intended" on their original tickets about general mob spawn rates being too high.

Also on normal worlds, the simulation distance is toggleable while on Realms it is 4 chunks flat. For this it should also be on the feedback website
Thank you for your report!
However, this issue has been closed as Invalid.
This is more of a feature request or a suggestion than a bug with the game.
We're very keen to hear your ideas though, so please head over to the Minecraft Feedback Site where you can search and vote for existing topics, or add a new thread if necessary.
