I got off and when I got back in my inventory,which had two really nice decked out fishing poles, a few of the shells, and a bunch of fish, had completely gotten deleted.

Does MCPE-55815 describe your issue?
Cleaning up old tickets: This ticket had been set to 'Awaiting Response', but has not received a response from the reporter (~3 months+) so is being closed as Incomplete.
