Bees don't pollinates crops > 1 block below them

Steps to reproduce

  1. Plant crops on farmland in an enclosed space with several blocks of headroom.

  2. Place a beehive 4 blocks up the wall on one side.

  3. On the other side, place 2 layers of dirt and plant flowers on it. The flowers should be at least 2 blocks higher than the crops.

  4. Spawn 4 bees.

Expected results

Bees collect pollen, 3 bees enter the hive, and 1 bee waits outside the hive. The waiting bee drips pollen and fertilizes the crops.

Actual results

Bees collect pollen, 3 bees enter the hive, and 1 bee waits outside the hive. The waiting bee drips pollen, but does not fertilize the crops, unless it happens to swoop down to where it is just one block above the crops.

Does the bee not pollinate any plants, or does it just not pollinate every plant it flies over?

According to the wiki, the wiki bees should not be expected to pollinate every plant that they fly over:

To pollinate a plant, the particles that drop must touch it directly. A bee can fertilize plants 10 times each time they have pollen, and there is a short wait time between pollinating each plant.

@unknown i don't know if there is a problem with your comprehension. i said crops not plant. there's a big difference between those two word and of you don't know what's the difference between the two kindly google it. When i said crops meaning  wheatpotatoescarrotsbeetrootsmelon stemspumpkin stems and berry bushes . Kindly read it thoroughly. Thanks

I used “plants” because I was referring to the individual blocks. In English “crops” refers to specific kinds of plants, it is not normally used to refer to individual plants. So if someone said “that crop did not grow” it would mean all of the plants of that type, e.g. all of the wheat. If we wanted to speak of a single wheat stalks/shoot we would say “that plant did not grow” or “that wheat plant did not grow.”

To avoid confusion let’s talk about “crop blocks.”

My question was trying to ask whether your bees pollinate some crop blocks, or none at all. And again, I mean do they pollinate some of the wheat blocks in a field, or none? I do not expect this has anything to do with the type, e.g. wheat vs. potatoes.

Im sorry for being rude. I try to lowered my ceiling to two blocks and it works. The bees is doing its job.

I'm glad that your bees are working now. I think there could be a bug here, so I am going to leave the ticket open for now. In your video it looks like the bee is 3 blocks above the crops. Are you saying the bee pollinates when it is 2 blocks above, but not when it is 3 blocks above?

The wiki says the been can be any height above the crops. If that is true for Java but not Bedrock then it would be a parity issue that we can track here.
