My son and I built lecterns and other occupation blocks to generate librarians and armor smiths. We put them in an enclosed building in an existing village surrounded by walls and well lit.
We bred a number of librarians and traded with them. Including getting a couple to max trading level. WE have beds for them in the enclosed building - no doors (we cut a hole in the wall to get in and out - and then block it) as well as a number of lecterns. However, they mysteriously disappear. In fact, I saw one lay down on a bed and vanish before my eyes. It happens late in the day but could be any time. Some time a number of the librarians will just as mysteriously appear in the building. One librarian, who sells mending books and is most important to us, will typically eventually appear. I have searched all the buildings in the enclosed village after dark and can't seem to find them sleeping anywhere else. They just vanish. Rather frustrating issue. I did make sure the beds in the enclosed building were not next to walls. Any help?

Same happened to me. It's happening for a lot of people and is probably the most major bug from this update. For me tho my villagers have now completely gone. At first I could save and quit the game and then join back and they would reappear but now they are completely gone. Make a copy of the world whilst you can in case they go like in my world

I am having a similar issue.
I have a very basic villager breeding area setup, just beds enclosed with a fence. I have about 20 villagers currently inside of the area.
At night the some villagers sleep in the beds like normal, but most of them disappear in different ways. Some just immediately disappear while others lay on the ground, like they are in bed, and then slide off into the distance, others who don't disappear just stand on a bed rather than sleep. When I go to sleep and come back the only villagers that remain are the ones who were not sleeping, sleeping in the beds or the lucky few who slept on the ground and didn't slide off into the distance. I can leave the area (unload the chunks) and return and most, if not all of the villagers, are back but only until night time rolls around again. I can't tell whether or not I am having any loss when I reload the area.
