I have a very basic villager breeding area setup, just beds enclosed with a fence. I have about 20 villagers currently inside of the area.
At night the some villagers sleep in the beds like normal, but most of them disappear in different ways. Some just immediately disappear while others lay on the ground, like they are in bed, and then slide off into the distance, others who don't disappear just stand on a bed rather than sleep. When I go to sleep and come back the only villagers that remain are the ones who were not sleeping, sleeping in the beds or the lucky few who slept on the ground and didn't slide off into the distance. I can leave the area (unload the chunks) and return and most, if not all of the villagers, are back but only until night time rolls around again. I can't tell whether or not I am having any loss when I reload the area.
