I am afraid we can not reproduce this bug in the recent version. Please update affected versions if this bug still occurs.

A new ticket has been opened for this issue in 0.14.2 see MCPE-14280. Seems the purple bar or other artifacts have just moved to a slightly different place in the hunger bar.
