so I just recently got the free minecraft windows 10 edition beta and an xbox account, as I was creating an xbox account it gave me a gamertag of diligenttea1464, I didn't really like it so I went to the xbox app and changed it but on minecraft it still shows up as dilligenttea1464 I tried re-installing but it wont work I'm guessing its a bug so I'm reporting it here.

Have you tried going into Options in the game and changing the player name? That does the trick in every other version. I don't yet have a Win10 device, so I'm behind on my MCWin10 testing 😛

Confirmed on Asus B121 Win10 Tablet running MCPE 0.12.2 and XBox Live 8.8.15003.00000. Changing my gamertag does not change my MCPE Win 10 player name. I see no way to change the MCPE Win 10 player name. Gamertag updated when I reset my tablet, otherwise I could find no way to make this happen.

An update of the Xbox app, or Windows 10 Minecraft? I can't update the Xbox app, and I'm assuming you mean Minecraft. I'll check for the update, then. My username is still GrubbyMicrobe57.
Edit: Yay! I can change it! But it stopped me before I typed the last 3 letters... Uh oh.
Another edit: Great. Now I'm stuck missing the last 3 characters of my name.
Yet another edit: Ok, it didn't change at all.
