So i recently got the new update for minecraft and when i started the game it was lagging so hard. It took about 3 minutes to completely load and when it did my fps was like 10 when it opened, and it was not responding when i tried to join a server.

I had this experience as well, but it got much better (though still not perfect) after I'd played a couple of times. That's most likely because I updated Windows 10. I had a big backlog of Optional Updates pending, fixes to firmware. You might want to check your Windows Update settings for that.
