Villagers do not unlink from beds based on distance

Issue: Villagers do not unlink from beds when moved 100 blocks + from their bed.

Expected results: Villagers moved 100+ blocks from a claimed bed will automatically unclaim that bed.

How to recreate: Spawn in a villager, place a bed next to it and wait until the green particles show up. Move said villager 100+ blocks horizontally away from bed. go back to previously placed bed and spawn a new villager. Notice that the new villager will not claim that bed, meaning it is still claimed by the other villager.

Additional notes: I have only experienced this issue when transporting villagers horizontally, leading me to assume it has to do with loading/unloading chunks. I do not know for sure though.

Villagers only unlink from beds if

  • they fail to reach them when pathing over land

  • the go into a nether portal

  • they are able to link to a new bed some distance outside of their original village's boundary (I think it's 32 blocks from the boundary, so 96 blocks from the center of a default/minimum size village).

I think this is probably working as intended.
